What currency are you using? Can I pay using SGD?
All prices on the shop are in USD. When you check out an item, the amount shown in the shopping cart and to be charged to your credit card is in USD. This is the default transaction currency. We are not processing payments by SGD in this store at the moment, although you can check out our Etsy shop where bank deposits in SGD are accepted to see if the same item is available there.

Do you ship internationally? How much does it cost?
Yes we do. Shipping costs are calculated at the checkout stage and are based on the total weight and destination of your order. Registered mail prices start from USD3.50 for international delivery and USD1.99 for Singapore delivery.

Can the jewellery you have for sale be resized?
Yes, just get in touch if you would like something to be made larger or smaller. We can’t guarantee everything will be adjustable because of design or material restrictions, but will work with you closely to meet your requirements.

I saw something I like, but can you make it in a different colour/metal?
Do you do custom orders?

Yes, we are open to your suggestions. If you like an existing design but want it in a different colour or metal, or want something completely from scratch with your own favourite gemstones, we can work on a custom design. Just contact us.

I saw something I like, but it’s been sold out. Can you do a remake?
Let us know what it is and we might be able to re-create it, or something similar, provided we still have the materials.

I still haven’t received my package – what do I do?
Please see these details under Shipping on our Policies page.

What is oxidised sterling silver?
This is .925 sterling silver whose surface has been reacted with a sulphur compound for a blackened patina. The resulting chemical layer may be left black or selectively buffed away for a weathered appearance. If you have extremely sensitive skin, you might want to avoid this.

How should I care for my jewellery?
First, please handle everything with care. They may be metal and stone, but still undergo stress upon high impact. Stones and glass can crack, chip or even break when dropped or knocked against harder objects, so be sure to put on and take off your jewellery slowly and generally just be careful when you have it on. Sterling silver naturally tarnishes after a while of being exposed to skin, air and humidity – this is normal! Try to keep all your jewellery in a sealed container (like the small ziplock baggie all our pieces are shipped in) when not in use. A silver-polishing cloth is good to have around. From time to time you can clean your natural stones with a damp, non-abrasive cloth. Avoid getting them in contact with perfume or harsh chemicals, or immersing anything in liquids.

Can you tell me more about the metals you use?
We do not employ plated base metals in our jewellery because we would like our pieces to give you years, if not a lifetime, of wear. Here is what we do use:

  • Thai Karen hilltribe fine silver – Traditional handmade jewellery components with higher silver content than sterling; we use 97% to 99.9% fine silver obtained from fair trade sources.
  • Vermeil Karen hilltribe fine silver – Traditional handmade jewellery components consisting of 99.9% pure silver plated with 1 micron of 18K gold for strength, then followed by 2 microns of 24K gold with 6 additional microns of protective coating.
  • Sterling silver – An alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.25% of another metal, usually copper. Sterling naturally tarnishes over time but can easily be restored with a silver-polishing cloth.
  • Argentium® sterling silver – Like sterling silver (92.5%) but laced with a tiny amount of germanium which keeps it shiny and tarnish-resistant.
  • 14K goldfill – 5% or 1/20 of the total weight of a base metal (usually brass or copper) covered by sheets of 14K gold in a mechanical bonding process, which results in a metal that looks and wears as durably as solid gold. Safe for sensitive skin, this has much higher gold content than regular plated base metal whose plating can be easily scratched or worn off.
  • Vermeil – Sterling silver which has been plated with at least 2.5 microns of high-carat gold, usually 22-24K. The look of opulent gold for less.
  • Brass – A gold-coloured alloy of copper and zinc. The brass that we use is Vintaj 100% natural brass – not brass-finish – that has been treated for a permanent antique look.

Can you tell me more about the gemstones you use?
We try wherever possible to incorporate natural gemstones. Some types of gemstones are commonly processed for enhancement, for example:

  • Agate/chalcedony, pearls – dyed to produce colours that do not occur in nature
  • Emeralds – almost all have been oiled for the reduction or sealing of internal fractures and for better clarity
  • Ruby, sapphire, tanzanite, citrine, aquamarine, amethyst, zircon – usually heated to enhance colour, clarity and brightness
  • Topaz, some tourmalines – irradiated to produce better or new colours (blue topaz is a common example)
  • Turquoise – may be stabilised with bonding agents to prevent discolouration and absorption of foreign substances
  • Hydrothermal quartz – this is lab-grown, man-made quartz with the same chemical structure and properties as quartz that is mined from the earth

Heating and irradiation are processes that also occur in nature due to geophysical location, chemical composition and tectonic forces.
